We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Client Manager – Accounting and Tax to take a leadership role in our growing firm. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives on managing client relationships at a high level, guiding a team, and driving client and firm success.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of a portfolio of clients, serving as their primary point of contact for accounting, assurance, and tax needs.
- Manage, review, and provide final sign-off on working papers, financial statements, corporate and personal tax returns, and other deliverables.
- Conduct complex tax research and provide strategic recommendations to clients and the team.
- Ensure deadlines are met for all engagements and maintain a clear overview of client timelines.
- Identify and develop opportunities to expand your client portfolio while contributing to firm growth.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering technical skills, leadership abilities, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with partners to improve workflow, implement new processes, and enhance client service.
- Stay current on changes in tax legislation, accounting, and assurance standards, and lead in integrating best practices.
Who are you?
You are a seasoned CPA leader with the technical expertise and business acumen to manage client relationships end-to-end. You balance strategic thinking with attention to detail and enjoy both guiding a team and rolling up your sleeves when needed.
You have:
- CPA designation with 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience, including assurance, complex tax, and client management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of clients and grow that portfolio over time.
- Strong background in reviewing files and providing actionable feedback.
- Proven tax research skills with the ability to interpret legislation and present practical solutions.
- Expertise with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Caseware, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office (experience with Dext, Wagepoint, and iFirm an asset).
