Our firm offers CPA articling student positions to recent university and college graduates who are looking to obtain their CPA designations. Curtis-Villar is a pre-approved training office with CPA Ontario and offers our articling students a variety of exposure to clients in different industries.
With that being said, we are looking to hire students who are the right fit for our firm. While grades are important, they are not the only thing we are looking for in a student. We look for students who are well-rounded and have also shown interests outside of their education. This could be as a member of a student group, sports team, community involvement, etc.
Being able to balance your education with other interests is important. As a student you will not only being working full-time for us, but also likely completing the Professional Education Program (PEP). In doing so, our students will need to balance their work life and commitments, while also completing their modules and capstones.
At Curtis-Villar we believe that the co-op experience is invaluable to your professional growth. We work with the local colleges and universities to offer fall and winter co-ops to students. Our co-op positions are in the form of either an 8-month co-op from September to April or a 4-month co-op from January to April.
As a co-op student you will experience what it is like to work in public practice and will be exposed to clients in a variety of different industries. We stress the importance of knowing your fundamentals and this is where your focus will be during your time at our firm.

Exciting Accounting Positions Available for Co-op Students for September 2022 - April 2023

Curtis-Villar is a full-service public accounting firm looking to grow our team. Our firm has a wide range of clients in many different industries. Some of the industries we serve include: real estate, professional services, retail, manufacturing, trades, not-for-profit and charities.
Our firm is providing the opportunity for a Co-op Student to join our team.
During the co-op term the successful student will assist one of our teams. The role will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of tax slips such as T4s and T5s;
- Assisting in the preparation of government remittances such as HST;
- Assisting with the preparation of client records;
- Assisting in the reconciliation of client data;
- Assisting with preparation of personal tax returns;
- Other duties as assigned.
This role provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to gain valuable exposure to an accounting environment.
Successful Candidates will:
- Be enrolled in an Accounting diploma or degree program;
- Have the ambition and eagerness to learn;
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, meet deadlines, learn quickly;
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral communication); and
- Experience or desire to work in a team based environment.
